Passionate about guitar and rock 'n' roll, brothers Samuel and Michal Åhdé founded the Guitar Museum in Umea, Sweden. Located in a 1917 building in the city center, the museum boasts an impressive collection. Let's take a closer look.
Brothers Samuel and Michal Åhdé fell in love with guitars when they accompanied their mother to a candy and magazine store. In one of them, they saw a photo of the Rolling Stones, and that's where their story began. Listening to Samuel's explanation, you begin to understand their passion for the instruments, which took them about three years to learn to play.

In 1973, they visited the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, to learn a little more about guitars at the legendary Rock House store, where they had the opportunity to meet Halkan and Fender and Gibson guitars.

Speaking of the collection, one of the relics on display is this guitar from the Swedish group ABBA, a hit in the 1980s. In addition to this guitar, there are hundreds of other guitars from renowned artists of the time, including the Beatles, as well as acoustic guitars, drums, and pianos.

In addition to more than 500 modern and ancient musical instruments, there's an area where the boys keep some childhood memories. And so, the city of Umea became known as the European capital of culture, due to the city's cultural and musical events and the number of young people who live there today.

Finally, after the visit, a photo break and a cold beer at Guitars Bar, which is inside the museum with separate access for those who just want to go to the bar. And after the visit, a photo break with Samuel and of course a chat about rock and roll.
